Bobby Weir Gives First-Ever Guitar Lesson in Support of HeadCount
Bobby Weir gave his first-ever guitar lesson this week, to Jason E. of Palmetto Fla., the winner of an online promotion in support of HeadCount.
Jason E. not only won a virtual lesson on the Lively platform but also a D’Angelico guitar signed by Weir. The promotion raised over $30,000 for HeadCount to support voter registration and education.
Weir is an original member of HeadCount’s board of directors and continues to support the organization. Additionally, has been a spokesperson for D’Angelico guitars since 2015, Weir played a custom D’Angelico on stage at the Fare Thee Well reunion concerts, which was later auctioned by Headcount for over $500,000 and distributed the proceeds to 17 different Grateful Dead-affiliated charities.
Recently, Weir announced his band, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros, would play a two-night stand at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in Honor of the 50th Anniversary of his album Ace.
